Honour Her

Written, directed, art directed and produced by Caroline Hill. In association with North Wicklow Films.This film was made because I wanted to see older women take a central role in film. Inspired by Rembrandt's painting Samson at the Wedding Feast. I chose to replace the young Deliah and Samson with their older characters. Within the short film we see the central woman imagine Her/ Deliah's 65th birthday party, the moments leading up to,and after the scene in the painting unfold. I gave special attention to recreating Rembrandt's colour palette and lighting. I painted the backdrop /carpet effect, and sourced all props and costumes. Todd A.Sheets was the stills photographer and second camera and gaffer. Arthur Janowsky was Director of photography editor. This short film is currently in post production.Thank you too all involved in this collaboration. First edit was entered into March on Film Festival 2019; in Aid of the charity Alone.
